Welcome Home!

The 2012 FISAC-IRSF World Rope Skipping Championships and World Youth Tournament were held July 31st to August 7th at the University of South Florida. The competition hosted over one thousand athletes, judges and coaches from 19 countries and is the highest level of competitive rope skipping in the world. 12 Nova Scotians, all from the Jump Energy Rope Skipping Club of Porters Lake, represented Team Canada very well. Below is a summary of their results.

FISAC-IRSF World Rope Skipping Championships:
Female Division: Monica Harlow, Jordan Richard, Breagha Lapierre and Kelsey Lucas came in 11th place in Double Dutch Pairs Freestyle

FISAC-IRSF World Youth Tournament:
Female Division: Kirsten Lind, Mikayla Keizer, Kristyn Ball and Reagan Safire came in 8th place in Single Rope Speed and Power Relay
Open Division: Cameron Short, Hayley Drapeau, Emily Rounds and Sam Ashley came in 7th place in Double Dutch Single Freestyle and Double Dutch Pairs Freestyle
Female Masters 15-17: Jordan Richard came in 12th place in Single Rope Freestyle
Female Masters 18+: Monica Harlow came in 7th place in 30 Second Speed

The athletes are now preparing for the 2014 FISAC-IRSF World Rope Skipping Championships that will be held in Hong Kong, China.
